<var></var>By Dr. Nadia Khan

11th January 2012 was one of the most sensational & dramatic day in Pakistan ’s political & media history. The day started with the news of press release issued by ISPR responding about the allegations of Prime Minister Gilani, in which he had said to a Chinese newspaper, that in course of memo gate ‘the replies of Army Chief & DG ISI directly to Supreme Court are not in sink with law & constitution.’

The root cause of all this is the memo gate; that has started by Mansor Ijaz, an American businessman & columnist, when penned down an article about the help sought by Pakistan’s former ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani after the killing of Osama Bin laden on 2nd May 2011 by American seals in Pakistan. Last 60 years political history of Pakistan reveals that civilian govts are always under pressure by the military establishment. From Major General (R) Iskander Mirza till General (R) Pervaiz Musharraf, all the civilian govts were toppled by military dictators and the fear is natural. For the sake of argument, if we assume that a Pakistani govt functionary in US has considered same – Mr Haqqani thoughts about Army establishment are well known- and tried to seek the help of US, it may not be acceptable by many in Pakistan but the fact remains there. Mian Nawaz Sharif, twice prime minister & no matter how much he denies, he had sent Shahbaz Sharif, his brother to Clinton administration asking for a favourable note against the then army establishment, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman invited US ambassador to Pakistan at his residence over secrete dinner and asked for help, Imran Khan recently visited Washington and presented his ‘case’ for help and so on! Not only civilian authorities, General (retired) Pervaiz Musharraf got retired in front of US envoy, Strobe Talbott, when Bush administration had asked him to accept few of the conditions before the invasion of Afghanistan! He has endorsed all the points. General (retired) Auyb Khan’s book ‘friends not master’ is a master piece of establishment relation with US. So, the role of US in our internal politics is quite visible; as it is said that Allah, Army, and America are the three points to consider, if someone wants to gain the reins of power in Pakistan .

Mian Nawaz Sharif’s petition in SC against his former media advisor, Hussain Haqqani, is not a piece of his revenge against an old aide but to play his cards against two; establishment and present PPP led govt. In both situations, he would gain maximum out of it, if able to topple the civilian govt then could be able to form a new govt in centre or if able to proof that memo is fake then all the investigation carried out by military establishment would expose the inability of security agencies. All this could happen thru the hands of Supreme Court and the nation has to endorse it by no means.

After Mian Nawaz Sharif, the authority that ignited this most is the ‘extra judicial activism’ by the superior judiciary. Civil society had provided extra help to the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan, after his restoration, to ensure an independent judiciary as well as speedy trial and free & fair justice to common men. There are thousands of cases, especially the cases of death sentences, are pending before the superior court and waiting for their final judgement but all that is pending since ages for cases like memo in which an American is required to witness. Many had replaced the comments of Chief Justice when he remarked that “do we listen to our Army Chief or US Army General for the integrity of memo?” as “do we trust our President (Asif Zardari) and Prime Minister or an American who always writes against the ISI and Pakistan’s military establishment.” The partiality of the court is at question!

Then, Pakistani electronic media had gained millions out of this episode, which would eventually go down to nothing, but to earn some extra rating for talk shows, sensational journalism to promote their channel, and picture the portrait of political upheaval in Pakistan.

Out of all this, each of the players has gained something except a poor stake holder. Prime Minister Gilani has gained courage to say what he was holding & hiding since over 3 weeks about establishment hawks, ISPR response indicated their power over civilian govt, Mian Nawaz Sharif has gained some political edge over ailing PPP govt by putting some extra pounds of pressure on them, Chief Justice has strengthen his judicial activism, and media gained few more millions through advertisement by gaining some more extra rating for their news programs, talk shows, and political analysis hosted by their anchors. What Pakistan has gained out of this – rupee has lost its value almost 3% over dollar indicated the failing economy, International investors faith in Pakistan as an unstable country becomes stregthen, world has witnessed that political turmoil started again in Pakistan. Under this turmoil the drone attacks started again after short pause!

That’s what Pakistan has achieved on 11th January 2012 with the help of “patriotic Pakistanis.” God bless Pakistan!

The career of Imran Khan, a cricketer turned politician, is full of colours, contradictions, and controversies. Since his debut in cricket in 1971 initially, and later in 1976 onward, he became known as a socialite due to his non-stop partying at London nightclubs such as Annabel’s and Tramp and further gained notoriety in London gossip columns for romancing young debutantes such as Susannah Constantine, Lady Liza Campbell and the artist Emma Sergeant. Then came Sita White; her paternity claim in NY court of law for Tyrian Khan, to be the daughter of Imran Khan, that fully exposed the former World Cup winner in the eyes of common Pakistanis beside being his philanthropic work of Shaukat Khannum Hospital.

With this flamboyant past, he entered the politics in 1996 with emphasis on anti-corruption policies, formed Pakistan Tahreek e Insaaf (PTI) and tried to broker a deal with the then dictator, Pervaiz Musharraf to take the powerful portfolio. It didn’t work well even with all foreign blessings; hence he walked out from National Assembly (2002-7) where he had only one seat. Partially his involvement in Lawyers Movement, to restore Ifthikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, had given PTI & himself a life line to take some ground in active politics & gain some popularity. His initial stance over missing persons, Dr. Afia Siddiqui’s disappearance, her unlawful detention & then single-sided trial in US, drone attacks in tribal areas of Pakistan, and louder voice over Baluchistan issues, have transformed him from power-hungry aristocratic drawing-room politics to people’s politics!

After the success of his Lahore political-cum musical show, number of his supporters often called him as Prime Minister-in-waiting, had gained some extra confidence by calling himself as the 3rd political force in Pakistan who would sweep coming general elections. He termed his success as Tsunami – a pseudo name given after 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that was the deadliest natural disaster in human history that killed around 230,000 people in 14 countries, likely calling his upcoming political gains as Tsunami against traditional politicians.

Unfortunately, even before this Tsunami begins, Imran Khan started taking U –turns against his own pre-defined political policies and opened PTI doors wide for all feudal politicians of past, especially close aides of former dictator. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Khurshid Kusuri, Jehangir Tareen, Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali are few old friends of Musharraf, to name with the exception of Javed Hashmi, joined hands with Imran Khan to become the part of upcoming political Tsunami. Someone rightly pointed out that “with the induction of so many Musharraf’s ministers in today’s’ Imran PTI looks like that Imran has joined Q league.” In coming years, this might turn out to be a real threat when Imran Khan’s voice -in his own PTI- would be considered feeble due to the presence of large number of Musharraf friends.

Those they had watched Khurshid Kasuri PTI joining ceremony, had noticed an amazing act of chairs snatching by the participants. Rather than guiding the voters, this shameful-act was shamelessly endorsed by PTI secretary information Shafqat Mahmood & chairman Imran Khan, as an act of “innocent people” because they are fed up of Zardari regime; so “they might take away chairs of govt. office bearers.” This is a clear indication that how Imran Khan will be swept by Musharraf’s friends when the need of time would come!

His second u-turn came when he had brokered a ‘silent deal’ with Altaf Hussain, leader of MQM who controls Karachi from London, to arrange his public meeting in Karachi on 25thDecember 2011 leaving behind all the hot conversation he has had against MQM founding leader and an ambition to file a case against him in London court. It was learnt that he had an out of court settlement with MQM and agreed that“Sita White case will not be brought to justice in US by MQM and in reply he will not file petition against Altaf Hussain in London .” This “settlement” was visible in Karachi while addressing his supporters; Imran Khan did not utter single word about MQM leader, forgetting his own previous statements about later & MQM atrocities on 12thMay 2007, when numbers of PTI workers were killed by Mutahidda terrorists! His stance against MQM self-exiled leader has created doubts that “hidden” hands are brining MQM and PTI closure for upcoming electoral alliance against PML (N) and ruling PPP.

In past, Imran Khan had always raised his voice against the drone attacks in tribal areas of Pakistan . Under the shadows of “Salalah check post attack by US & NATO forces,” recent statement of US ambassador, Cameron Munter that “Imran Khan is not against US” has astonished large section of society in Pakistan who foresees Imran as hardliner against US policies in the region. However it was observed that US ambassador statement came up only when Imran Khan has quietly visited US state department and expressed “his case” to Washington; an act known to very few in Pakistan and even in the folds of PTI. Probably, this was the reason due to that Imran Khan didn’t attend Difa e Pakistan rally, the public meeting arranged by 40 religious parties in Lahore on 18th December 2011, to pass a soft message to US at this crucial juncture of time when Zardari-led PPP govt is shacking due to a small piece of paper penned by an American!

Imran Khan has always been at the forefront of highlighting missing persons issue including Dr Aafia’s case. In one of his speech he had demanded that “the Government of Pakistan tell us how Dr Aafia ended up in Afghanistan with her three children; how can a frail woman attack US marines; why has the Government of Pakistan not taken any active measures to bring her back home to face any trial. The Government needs to expose those who have aided and abetted the kidnapping of Dr Aafia,” while he was referring Pervaiz Musharraf govt. After that he has asked PTI members to actively participate in demonstrations, vigils across the globe. Upon his directive Mohammad Kassam, member of PTI UK was one of the several people who had kept the 7 day vigil outside the US Embassy, spending up to 20 hours in the wet weather of London . In recent days, the world has witnessed that the foreign minister of Pervaiz Musharraf regime who has joined PTI recently, while addressing one of the public meeting was sitting next to Imran Khan at the stage where as down among the crowd, there were one or two flags showing few slogans about the release of Afia Siddiqui but Imran Khan didn’t say few words about Dr Afia’s case or her release from US custody! Time has changed; a leader is born & gained popularity by using these burning issues and now no need to look upon these forgotten souls!

Could Imran Khan be the real saviour of people of Pakistan or Pakistanis are going to witness same old wine in a new bottle with fancy cricket label having singers like Abrar ul Haq and Shahzad Roy selling his political agenda over popular Pakistani national tunes! Time will confirm that anti-corruption policies were just few words to gain popularity or actual agenda of PTI to implement, the shadows of flamboyant past are still visible or re born under the banner of musical nights, a real saviour of Pakistan has arrived or Mr. 20% has arrived after Mr. 10%, would history has repeated itself when someone has accepted the help of hidden hands of establishment or used the shoulder of common men to gain power!!!!

Any party -new or old- with slogan of “change” how they could bring positive change in society when they have migratory birds like PPPP former foreign minister, Musharraf’s former foreign minister or bunch of kings’ party holders, would have to think as why these traditional politicians are strengthening the hands of a gentleman who only won one seat in any general elections? The answer is simple in Pakistani environment. The traditional politicians are very sensible, since then they realized that the “powerful hand” is on Imran Khan’s head, they know that the power would fall on him, so they started gathering around him to share the piece of cake; Pakistan. That’s what the political history of Pakistan is, since last 60 years!

Imran Khan and f<var></var>orgotten souls!

Another most critical missing person case relates to Dr. Afia Siddiqui. She was disappeared in Karachi in March 2003 and resurfaced in Afghanistan in 2008, after 5 years, framed with attempted murder of US personnel and taken to the US. She was sentenced for 80 years, a maximum sentence of life in prison, means the world will not see her as a free person in her life again. She is also known as prisoner 650. Her eldest son Ahmed was released in 2008 and in April this year a 12 year old girl, Maryam, was mysteriously left outside the family residence in Karachi. We still do not know about her youngest son Suleman who was 6 months old at the time of the abduction.

Yvonne Ridley, a notable convert-journalist from UK, since 2008 and was the first to discover the presence of women prisoners in Bagram – this was at a time when no one even knew of any women prisoners in Bagram especially Dr Aafia. However after extensive investigative work by Yvonne Ridley and her team, the truth was uncovered in 2008. In 2008, it was discovered that there is a female prisoner 650 who so happened to be Dr Aafia.

Beside Yvonne, there were also supportive statements from Caroline Lucas MEP, Green Party Leader and from Gareth Peirce. Caroline Lucas said that “the circumstances surrounding Aafia’s disappearance and subsequent seven year incarceration reveal the shambolic sate of the US criminal justice system….I therefore lead my full support to the Justice for Aafia Coalition.” Gareth Peirce said that ”realize the true horror of the circumstances in which a defendant who awaits trial under Special Administrative Measures is held in the USA , entirely isolated, in a cell just 7 by 12 feet with a moulded concrete bunk. No contact with another person. Never to see the light of day…. This is a case that cries out for a return and with the greatest speed, to her own country now for Aafia Siddiqui”.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) & its Chairman Imran Khan has been at the forefront of highlighting Dr Aafia’s issue as well as the missing people issue. Imran Khan in one of his speech had demanded that “the Government of Pakistan tell us how Dr Aafia ended up in Afghanistan with her three children; how can a frail woman attack US marines; why has the Government of Pakistan not taken any active measures to bring her back home to face any trial. The Government needs to expose those who have aided and abetted the kidnapping of Dr Aafia,” while he was referring Pervaiz Musharraf govt. After that he has asked PTI members to actively participate in demonstrations, vigils across the globe. Upon his directive Mohammad Kassam, member of PTI UK was one of the several people who had kept the 7 day vigil outside the US Embassy, spending up to 20 hours in the wet weather of London.

In recent days, the world has witnessed that the former foreign minister of Pervaiz Musharraf regime who has joined PTI, while addressing one of the public meeting was sitting next to Imran Khan at the stage where as down, among the crowd, there were one or two flags showing few slogans about the release of Afia Siddiqui but Imran Khan didn’t utter few words about Dr Afia’s case or her release from US custody!

Time has changed; a leader is born & gained popularity by using these burning issues and now no need to look upon these forgotten souls!

Imran Khan & missing persons – part 1

In the beginning Imran Khan has started taking side of all those who were trying to find the whereabouts of missing persons in Pakistan. Till the end of Pervaiz Musharraf era, he was seen in many of these protests on streets and in the corridors of law where was appeared as their staunch supporter. Be it Dr. Afia or Ms. Amna Junjua or missing youngsters of Balochistan, Imran Khan was there in many of the protests, public meetings or press briefings. Since then he turned himself as the 3rd political force in Pakistan by himself, or by his hidden partners, he is seen away from this cause.

If you want to know how brutally Pakistani spy agencies treats fellow Pakistanis, you must meet Amna Janjua. An intelligent painter and interior designer, lives in Rawalpindi – probably few kilometers away from agencies offices where her husband, Masood Janjua was kept “disappeared” for number of years until handed over to Americans or still his whereabouts are unknown. It is a scandal and a disgrace especially for those who are being named as “the guardians of Pakistan” no matter the most wanted man was residing also few kilometers away from them and they “didn’t know his whereabouts,” and, of course, Amna tried to find his husband where ever she could, in last 7 years, all the way up to the President but no luck! Around 8,000 of Pakistan’s missing citizens, men, for the most part, seized from their homes or from the streets by cops and soldiers on the orders of spies and intelligence agents and Americans working in Pakistan since 9/11. Only in Lahore alone, there are 120 “torture houses” just for the people missing in Punjab. “Their shrieks of pain from the basements could be heard by residents – who complained only that the buildings might provoke bomb attacks. In Pakistan today, preservation counts for more than compassion,” writes Robert Fisk.

Masood Janjua was 44 when he was “disappeared” on 30 July 2005. He ran an IT college and a travel agency, the father of two boys – Mohamed and Ali, and a girl, Aisha. He just never came home. Nobody saw what happened. Amna, who was 40 at the time, glows when she speaks of him. “We were so extremely close, so happy, our world was so heavenly – we were always visiting friends, having parties at home. He was so caring and kind to our children, so affectionate. That he should be taken from me! I think it was a very big mistake that they did. But when they do it – like this – they never say they were wrong.”<var></var>

Who are these “they?” Everyone you talk to would refuse to answer about this “they” because it could provoke “them” to undertake a quick execution. “They” is the Inter-Services Intelligence. “They” is military intelligence. “They” are the Americans, some of them present – according to the few “disappeared” who have been released – during torture sessions. The Defense of Human Rights Pakistan (DHRP), the movement which Amna founded with 25 other bereft families, has gathered evidence of English-speaking interrogators who calmly ask victims questions during their torment. Amna lives in a military district of Rawalpindi, beside an old British barracks, where US soldiers are observed in Pakistani uniforms – sometimes female American soldiers dressed, so she says, in the uniforms of Pakistani military paramedics, as it observed during the days of former military dictator Pervaiz Musharraf.

Could Imran Khan dare to continue his support for DHRP in coming days even when he would gain power corridors with the help of his ‘friends?’

<var></var>Pakistan is facing number of critical issues, the integral one is Baluchistan . Unfortunately, since over last two decades this far flung province is run by Frontier Constablery (FC), a powerful agency of military establishment. Hence the democratic process is also at the feet of this agency, and the out come of this type of dictatorial ruling is “missing persons, dead bodies of young Baloch, mid night raids, etc.” This has resulted that national anthem of Pakistan is a banned item in that territory and national flags are visible at military installations only. Imran Khan or PTI with soft corner for military establishment is not having any political roots in Baluchistan, though they announced their 3rd public meeting at Quetta on 23rd March 2012 but the wounds could be mend as they are thought! The mood with Baloch youngsters, to apprehend Pervaiz Musharraf for the killing of Sardar Akber Bugti, is quite visible in Baluchistan & known to Imran Khan and all political forces. Hence, like other Pakistani political parties including Mian Nawaz Sharif or President Zardari, Imran Khan’s PTI would not be able to convince angry Baloch youngsters in coming years until they bring former dictator to court of law for killing of Bugti. This is a dream that couldn’t come true as long as political parties are using “hidden hands” of military establishment for their own power-gain game!

Second, the polarized Pakistani society where terrorism is evolved through sectarianism is the new dimension of concentration and work. Taleban factor has reached at its peak in Pakistani territory rather than Afghanistan . This requires great balance between the Universities educated elites of Pakistan and the conservative Madrasa students who –time & again- support Afghan Taleban and consider them as future saviour of Pakistan with an assumption that religious association could bring “revolution” in Pakistan . These are two extremes, none of the political leader of Pakistan , in last two decades, was able to bridge this gap or bring two-arch rivals together for the sake of Pakistan . Could Imran Khan, with his pro-West background, be able to work in this direction? The answer as of today is no. Imran Khan has raised his Taleban thoughts with the condemnation of US policies however it is quite visible today that he is aligning himself with those who had handed over Dr. Afia Siddiqui to US authorities in past. This contradiction could result in the form of great loss for PTI or Imran Khan in coming years!

Third, corruption is the trademark of Pakistani society. It is not linked to politicians only. Various govt departments are symbolized as most corrupt in recent Transparency International report, however they have delinked Pakistan Military forces from corruption but this is not true. Starting from financial, moral, nepotism, until abuse of authority or making wrong decision on behalf of Pakistani nation, all are considered as part of it. How Imran Khan or PTI or any other political force that could win upcoming general election could root them out, that’s the main question of today. No one is having proper plans to deliver in this direction. For example, the current Zardari regime has designated mostly corrupt authorities as part of their “pleasing plan for Jiyalas” in all the major institutions of Pakistani establishment with the exception of Justice (R) Rana Bhagwan Dass. Imran Khan and his team “new “members are mostly part of old corrupt regimes, either in Nawaz or Zardari govts, so how can the image of transparent or corruption-free Pakistan could be built with already used cartridges! Could any of the existing politicians or political figureheads dare to identify the corruption with armed forces of Pakistan ? The answer is big no!

Fourth, the industrial revolution process is almost at halt in Pakistan . Foreign investments are now limited to foreign-remittances by the expatriate community of Pakistan living outside. Likewise, shortage of electricity, gas and law & order situation in major cities are at its worse level beside being portrayed by the all time “cool” interior minister of Pakistan; Mr Rahman Malik. Almost in each of the foreign-invested projects for power & electricity, dark shadows of corruption are visible and in some cases the minister is also complaining in Supreme Court of Pakistan about the malpractice by his own ruling party members! Could Imran Khan be having a proper plan or team of experts to root out corruption from the society? All this has made the life of common Pakistani a hell, hence suicides are now becoming common practice in an Islamic society!

Then came to the political stability of civil governments in the country, martial law dictators survive more in Pakistan than civilian govts. What is the root cause? Beside being the bad reputation of political leaders, their internal wills to snatch “powerful chair of Prime Minister” from each others tempt the army dictators to rule the country. This musical chair game has reached to a level where few of the politicians had invited the powerful ambassador of United States secretly over dinner & sought help to gain that chair. Once an army general comes, he comes with his own plan & agenda and somehow he gets together a bunch of politicians who help him to change the face of a military govt in a limping-civilian govt. Be is Muhammad Khan Junejo or Zafar ullah Jamali or “aristocratic” Shaukat Aziz, all of them ruled the civilian govt under the powerful hand of a dictator. Could Imran Khan be able to stand in front of Army dictators amicably as his past reveals that he had bowed in front of Musharraf and his current team members are all “friends” of Musharraf except Javed Hashmi.

The life of Imran Khan, a cricketer turned politician and chairman of Pakistan Tahreek Insaa (PTI)f, is full of colours, controversies, and contradictions. Beside cricket politics, his public political life started in 1995-6, when he was portrayed as a ‘convert – a Muslim by belief but now converted to real fundamental basics of Islam’ receiving Holy Quran through the hands of former Ameer e Jamat e Islami. Then he had formed his own politically party and tried to gain power through back doors when Pervaiz Musharraf’s mother who was the strong ally of Shaukat Khannum Hospital & one of the donor, had helped him to come to the lime light of former dictator. In today’s Pakistan, often he is called by his supporters as Prime Minister-in-waiting, had given him good confidence to consider himself for same post while challenging former political friends or foes. Could he be the real saver of people of Pakistan or the poor nation would witness the same old fate in a new cricket bottle?

One would have to consider the flamboyant past of someone & how much he has changed himself in his public life, what is work done for the slogan of “change” or what type of team members he is having now, are the basic questions to be asked! Beside, the controversial-past, could Imran Khan & his Pakistan Tahreek Insaaf be capable enough to cope up with the existing problems of Pakistan? We would run a brief look at it carefully.

Pakistan is facing number of critical issues, the integral one is Balochistan. Unfortunately since over last two decades this far flung province is run by Frontier Constablery (FC), a powerful agency of military establishment. Hence the democratic process is also at the feet of this agency, and the out come of this type of dictatorial ruling is ”missing persons, dead bodies of young Balochis, mid night raids, etc.” This has resulted that national anthem of Pakistan is a bannded item in that territory and national falgs are visible at military installations only. Imran Khan or PTI with soft corner for military establishment, is not having any political roots in Balochistan, though they announced their 3rd public meeting at Quetta on 23rd March 2012 but the wounds could be mend as they are thought! The mood with Balochi youngsters, to apprehend Pervaiz Musharraf for the killing of Sardar Akber Bugti, is quite visible in Baluchistan & known to Imran Khan and all political forces.

Taleban factor has reached at its peak in Pakistani terrotiary rather than Afghanistan. This requires great balance between the Universities educated elites of Pakistan and the conservative Madrasa students who –time & again- support Afghan Taleban and consider them as future saviour of Pakistan with an assumption that religious association could bring “revolution” in Pakistan. These are two extremes, none of the political leader of Pakistan, in last two decades, was able to bridge this gap or bring two-arch rivals together for the sake of Pakistan. (By Dr. Nadia Khan)<var></var>

Since over a week when ex-colleagues of Musharraf are joining Imran’s Tahreek e Insaaf, it was understood that military establishment is working out a safe govt for ex-President of Pakistan when he will come back in Jan 2012, as he says! The way he was made out, with full gaurd of honor, likewise he would be allowed to run politics in Pakistan in coming days!!!!

With the induction of Javed Hashmi, ex PML (N) leader, in PTI the canvass has expanded in way to diffuse the pro-establishment image of PTI. However the induction of Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali had made it clear that with the exception of Javed Hashmi the bunch of opportunist are getting around with a hope that “with the fall of Zardari regime, they will be the next choice for military establishment to form new govt as Nawaz Sharif is no longer a candidate for Pakistan’s powerful ruling establishment.” This dream is somehow very fancy till it painted properly for the people of Pakistan. In coming days the major debate for PTI-runners would to answer below questions because the painted picture is not getting all real colors!!!

Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali would sit with Azam Sawati on same table (in PTI,) as later has mentioned in his resignation & over many TV interviews that Sardar Asif was the most corrupt personality of Zardari regime as he had caught his corruption of 50 crore in plane-purchase scandal. Who will justify who, as Mr Sawati was right or Sardar Asif is an opportunist!

Until then Shah Mehmood was the foreign minister of PPPP-led govt, the nuclear apparatus of Pakistan were in safe hands. Since then he was not offered foreign ministry portfolio, the nuclear program (with the presence of President Zardari) is not in safe hands! Thats the only “output”of ex-foreign minister in his speeches!

Khursid Kasuri was running, supporting, and activating pro-US policies of Musharraf for number of years. Now he –under the banner of PTI & with patronage of Imran Khan- will run similar policy or different foreign policy with US, each one has right to ask this critical question of Pakistan’s new foreign policy with US & NATO forces.

Peoples memory is not faded away from the episode of 12th May 2007 when a ‘weak & ousted Cheif Justice’ was not allowed to enter Karachi by a political party with the help of spy agencies. How Altaf Hussain, today, has accepted a “weak” political party to show off in his strong hold, Karachi? All this is possible with the help of a strong “hidden hand” who had asked MQM stunch founder to allow others to show up in Karachi, as part of a plan that PTI is a country-wide party. In reality, during elections, PTI will not be allowed to foster MQM’s vote bank, as the deal brokered by the powerful spy agencies in Karachi.

So the whole “drama” is to paint Imran Khan’s personality as a nation-wide leader, representing all four provinces of Pakistan, before assigning him highest assignemt in Islamabad in coming year!

Playing in the hands of intelligence agencies; this puppet role was played by most of the Pakistani political figureheads and finally had regretted their actions.

<var></var>Nawaz Sharif was instrumental through IJI and now we all know that it was formed and funded by Pakistan’s notorious agencies. While signing the “charter of democracy” Mian Nawaz Sharif regretted… what he had played in the past under the banner of IJI. Former Ameer of Jamat e Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmed admitted the betrayal of Musharraf, to remove his uniform when agreed, under 17th amendment. Even the formation of Mutahidda Majils Amal, MMA, was credited to agencies, also in crafting dual conclusions. One for nation; religious alliance that can change the nation fortune, failed miserably, second for US; if you don’t deal with Musharraf then Pakistan could be taken over by religious zealots, to prolong his illegal tenure.

Imran Khan is also following the footmarks of those whom he had condemned categorically in last few years, first by accepting the establishment-driven migratory birds like Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Khurshid Kasuri, and so on and second -by unknowingly- destabilizing the govt of President Zardari.

Indeed, Zardari regime is the most corrupt govt of Pakistan’s history but it is somehow publically elected and democratic by default. After 10 years of military dictatorship that has ruined the constitution of Pakistan twice, all efforts should be made to improve the performance of present “corrupt” regime till it falls through a fresh election by people of Pakistan, not by military forces of Pakistan.

Any hand strengthening the idea of military-rule again, is considered as undemocratic force and PTI is now driving this idea with agencies help; through resources in the form of migratory birds and funding may be through local partners. This is a well known fact that who has funded PTI’s Lahore public meeting, like years before IJI was funded by whom & that petition is still pending in the court of Ifthikhar Chaudhry and hope to be reviewed before the end of his tenure in 2013 to get to know the “well known fact” of Pakistan’s politics!

What Imran Khan and PTI has delivered in last few years, as politician or someone who has raised the slogan of “change,” that also needs to be accounted for!

First, while in the beginning, Imran had raised his voice against the notoriety of Muhajir’s self-claimed & exiled leader, Altaf Hussain and initiated to try him in London Royal Court, to bring him to justice for all his brutal political tactics being carried out in Karachi since ages through gangsters. He was welcomed by all however what happened in that due course was thought-provoking. In response, MQM pulled him in a court in New York for Sita White’s daughters’ paternity and Imran had decided to deal with it “outside” the court at a cost that he would be silent against MQM and MQM would be silent against his flamboyant past. This was the bargain accepted by a “righteous leader” who had condemned, in fact, all of Pakistan national political figures -rightly- for their corrupt past and the lingering nation thought that a “saviour” has arrived as they wanted a positive change. Alas, the catalyst of change had changed him in favour of all evils!

Second, when whole nation including all the politicians decided to stay away from dictator’s fake referendum but the “catalyst of change” has accepted that whole heartedly. Was it wrong or right move, regardless, but an year or so ago, the nation had learnt from him that “I had made a mistake” referring to Pervaiz Musharraf’s most rigged self-selection process.

Third, playing in the hands of intelligence agencies; this puppet role was played by most of the Pakistani political figureheads and finally had regretted their actions. Nawaz Sharif was instrumental through IJI and now we all know that it was formed and funded by Pakistan’s notorious agencies. While signing the “charter of democracy” Mian Nawaz Sharif regretted what he had played in the past under the banner of IJI. Former Ameer of Jamat e Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmed admitted the betrayal of Musharraf, to remove his uniform when agreed, under 17th amendment. Even the formation of Mutahidda Majils Amal, MMA, was also credited to agencies, also in crafting dual conclusions. One for nation; religious alliance that can change the nation fortune, failed miserably, second for US; if you don’t deal with Musharraf then Pakistan could be taken over by religious zealots, prolonged his illegal tenure. Imran Khan is also following the footmarks of those whom he had condemned categorically in last few years, first by accepting the establishment-driven migratory birds like Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Kusrshid Kasuri, and so on and second -by unknowingly- playing against the govt of President Zardari. Indeed, Zardari regime is the most corrupt govt of Pakistan’s history but it is somehow publically elected and democratic in its roots. Any hand strengthening the idea of military-rule is considered as undemocratic force and PTI is now driving this idea with agencies help; a well known fact, we all know!

Today Imran Khan and his PTI are under focus; how they came under focal point that is the million dollar questions? No one is willing to answer this question sincerely. During early days of Musharraf, when he was planting “fake” referendum to get endorsement from “ignorant” poor’s of Pakistan, Imran Khan was taking dictators side, though he openly admit that “had had made mistake.”

Nowadays, when all the stalwarts of Musharraf ex-regime are –somehow- joining Pakistan Tahreek Insaaf, it is not strange to know as “who had signalled these traditional politicians to be part of Imran Khan’s team?” But the fact remain exists that these feud-politics are not “senseless” to join a party that won only one seat before. Those they are aware of Pakistani environment they know very well the mindset of our “beloved” politicians and their migration to ruling party. The case of Q-league is very evident when the entire close by stalwarts of Mian Nawaz Sharif ditched them for Musharraf after 12th Oct 1999; Shaikh Rashid is the prime example of this political mindset.

So there’s something, that Imran Khan would get larger share in coming days in Pakistan govt structure.

It is also clear that those they are migrating to PTI were close to military establishment in their past assignments. Be it Khurshid Kasuri, who fought fiercely 7 years that US is having right to invade Afghanistan or Shah Mehmood, or Owais Leghari all are having their inclination towards Pakistan’s powerful military apparatus. Even few of them had supported Musharraf’s action in Lal Mosque or killing of Bugti in Balochsitan. Could Imran Khan be able to change their mind set in coming days – as part of their change slogan- or they would be able to change Imran’s philosophy of sincerity, merit, fair treatment, or betterment of poor Pakistanis!!!
